Adolescent and emerging adult behavioral health disorders affect the mental, emotional, and financial health of parents, siblings, extended family members, and friends. Living with the side effects of these active conditions and the challenges of finding effective treatments can devastate self-image, strain marital ties, and tax family relationships.
The mental health of individuals is inextricably linked to the dynamics of their family system. Myriad forms of familial dysfunction and even inherited genetics can play roles in developing and exacerbating mental health conditions. Importantly, however, families are also the most vital sources of love, support, and connection that foster successful recovery. At Turnbridge, we understand that family member heath and family unit health are one and the same.
Turnbridge is home to some of the most experienced family system treatment specialists and has provided comprehensive family care since 2003. We believe that successfully treating families requires a comprehensive approach that understands and cares for the wide-ranging needs of family members. We also know that while psychotherapy and counseling are often recommended to the parents of children experiencing behavioral health conditions, therapy alone is seldom an effective means of addressing this multifaceted issue.
The Turnbridge TEACH Family Care Model was developed to holistically support the needs of Turnbridge families to experience their own healing and best support the recovery of their loved ones in our care. The TEACH Model is used to guide individualized and coordinated delivery of Therapy, Education, Advice and Navigation, Community and Support, and Health and Wellness services based on the needs of Turnbridge client family members.
The use of TEACH allows Turnbridge team members to evaluate the needs of families, measurably assess progress, and better target specialized services.
