Programming addresses all aspects of client life and family systems to identify and initiate a personalized and comprehensive treatment plan delivered by expert clinicians.
The Turnbridge Girl’s Residential Treatment Program is situated on a private 110-acre estate of pastures and paddocks in beautiful Killingworth, Connecticut. The program features exceptionally comfortable accommodations, miles of manicured walking trails, playing fields, and activity centers, and a world-class indoor-outdoor equestrian center and stables allowing year-round equine experiences. Built with client safety in mind, the gated facility and grounds include camera systems and perpetual staff supervision. A high staff-to-client ratio provides clients and family members with ready access to informed team members and exceptionally personalized care.
The Turnbridge Adolescent Girl’s Residential Treatment Program is staffed by a team of multidisciplinary experts in adolescent medicine, psychiatry, psychotherapy, experiential and recreational health, fitness and nutrition, and academic counseling. The program is also home to researchers, psychometricians, and educators leading the field of behavioral healthcare. Clients and family members receive close support and partnership from the entire care team, who strives to provide exceptional treatment, education, and planning that results in positive long-term holistic health and wellness outcomes.
To meet the intense need, program capacity has been expanded from 18 to 25 clients.

Home to just 25 girls at a time, the Killingworth program affords the highly personalized attention needed to focus the attention of highly skilled, leading professionals on each client and family. In addition to providing some of the most effective and advanced care available, Turnbridge adolescent treatment programs are contributing to the advancement of knowledge as practicum centers of excellence for the Yale School of Medicine.
Adolescent behavioral health conditions, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, and substance use and mood disorders, are often rooted in unresolved traumatic experiences and adverse life events, undiagnosed learning or thought disorders, and executive functioning issues. Unraveling the causes of mental health disorders is key to their effective treatment.
The Killingworth campus offers a peaceful, private, safe, and immensely comfortable environment in which to engage with caregivers, family members, and peers. The gated property is perpetually monitored for client safety and features horse stables, an indoor equestrian riding center, recreation fields, a game room, beautiful walking and hiking trails, a pond, a fully-equipped fitness center, and yoga and movement rooms, an academic center, chef-prepared meals, and more.
